Choosing each other is one of the bravest decisions we make in life.

I’m here to honor that choice.

Meet your Photographer

Hi, I'm Sammy Aucella — artist, observer, and lifelong admirer of brave decisions.

Former architectural designer.

Drawn to landscapes that demand humility.

Artistically incapable of resisting good light,

great tailoring, or

a life-altering yes.

I'm someone with a deep appreciation for vintage pieces, a quality fur, and jewelry with just enough drama.

Some people inherit family heirlooms.

I inherited strong opinions about style.

Blame my grandmother.

I, however, thank her daily.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by the moments where people choose something bigger than comfort—

the kind of choices that change the direction of your life.

That instinct has shaped both my story

and the way I photograph yours.

Before photography, I worked in architecture and design.

My days were spent studying structure — how light moves through a space, how lines guide the eye, how composition holds a feeling.

Architecture taught me how to see.

But eventually I realized something.

I didn’t want to spend my life designing buildings.

I wanted to be present for the moments that shape people.

So in 2020, I left.

Threw my camera into the passenger seat of my van and drove across the American West.

No real plan.

The only thing I knew for certain was that the life I wanted existed somewhere beyond the safe one.

Living that way teaches you something important:

The most meaningful moments in life rarely come from certainty.

They come from courage.

The most meaningful lives are built through courageous choices

When you strip away the flowers,

the timelines, and the carefully curated details,

something profound is happening.

Two people stand in front of those

who shaped their lives —

and choose each other.

Fully.

Publicly.

Without knowing exactly what the future holds.

It’s hopeful.

It’s emotional.

And honestly…

it’s pretty incredible.

That kind of devotion deserves

to be documented with care.

With intention.

With someone who understands the courage behind it.

My background in architecture still shapes the way I photograph.

Before I ever lift my camera, I'm reading the space.

The architecture.

The lines.

The way light moves through a room.

I build intentional frames first —

so when the real moments happen,

they have somewhere powerful to land.

Then I step back and let you forget I'm there.

Because the best images happen when you're not performing for the camera,

you're simply living inside them.

Architecture taught me to see structure.

Street photography across SE Asia taught me to read energy and timing.

Capturing music taught me rhythm—

when to direct,

and when to disappear.

The result?

Images that look filmic but feel visceral,

honest, elevated & cinematically alive.

At the end of the day, my work is about something simple.

Being present for the moments that matter.

Not because it’s easy.

But because it’s worth it.

And preserving that decision in a way that will still feel true twenty, thirty, forty years from now.

Because the most meaningful lives are rarely the safest ones.

They’re the ones built through the courage to choose.
